Troubleshooting

ISSUE
CAUSE
REMEDY
The excess pressure safety
valve has tripped.
1. Nozzle obstructed.
2. Handpiece closed.
3. Handpiece obstructed.
4. Gas does not exit rubber
hose (sintered filters clogged).
5. (External) gas feed hose
(9) obstructed.
1. Replace nozzle.
2. Open handpiece.
3. Remove the handpiece from the
rubber hose and blow in
compressed air from the nozzle
connector end. Warning: before
cleaning always remove the nozzle
from the handpiece. If it is still
obstructed contact your
Authorised
Service Centre
.
4. Change sintered filters.
5. Blow compressed air in
hydrogen gas feed pipe (9)..
Flame has wrong colour:
1. Yellow.
2. Reddish (small oxidative flame).
1. The sintered filter has
been wetted with the
Deoxidizer Solution or dirtied
with Caustic Solution.
2. Change both Deoxidizer
Solution and sintered filter.
1. Check level of Solutions: reduce
levels or change sintered filter.
2. Change Deoxidizer Solution and
sintered filter.
The flame is small and produces
little heat.
1. Caustic solution level inexact. 1. Check the reading on the current
indicator; about twenty minutes after
switching on, with the regulator turned
to maximum, check the Caustic
Soda level.
The level of Caustic Solution shown
on the level indicator (12) must be
about 1 cm below maximum level. If
the level is lower add distilled water.
If with the right level the ammeter
reading is less than 50 Amperes
change the caustic solution.
