Ideal for this type of application are RTV2 silicones with the necessary thixotropic agents (added to the fluid silicones to make them thixotropic and permit application in the vertical plane) and alginates.

Thanks to their high fluidity, Zhermack silicones can be used to make any type of detail or special effect.
ZA 22 THIXO BODY silicones and AL PR and MT alginates are certified for contact with the skin. Documentation is available on request.
Exact duplication of details and versatility in terms of hardness make Zhermack silicones and alginates ideal for the creation of special effects. In addition, the thixotropic effect prevents the products from dripping, making them suitable for application on vertical surfaces. Zhermack products for this type of application guarantee high resistance to laceration, dimensional stability over time and high malleability of the hardened rubber.
For correct use and to obtain the final product characteristics, use poly-addition silicones at a ratio of 1:1 (in weight). The application surface must be perfectly clean. Once the products have been poured, the components should be mixed vigorously for about 60" until a homogeneous compound is obtained. The product should then be poured from a recommended height of about 30 cm. The products tested for skin contact can be poured on to and modelled directly on the body.
With the alginates on the other hand, gelling is obtained with a ratio of 2 parts water:1 part powder (in weight).
Store the product at a temperature between 5°/25°C. Close the bottles of silicone and bags of alginate tightly after use.
