The mould making technique involves duplicating any decorated, simple or compound object in numerous types of material, including stones, waxes and resins.
We have two families of products for the body casting sector:
Alginates: for moulds to be used just once and for a limited period of time (a few days);
Silicones: for moulds used to make a number of replicas and to be kept for a long period of time.
Special effects include a number of techniques and technologies used in the film making, television and theatre sectors to simulate events, places, situations and physical conditions which would otherwise be impossible to represent.
The concrete moulding technique involves duplicating any decorated, simple or compound object using concrete.
A lost wax casting process is used in the high quality jewellery sector. Zhermack silicones have been developed to create high precision moulds.
The Vacuum Infusion (or Vacuum Bagging) process is a moulding technique for the infusion of resin inside a reinforcing material made of carbon, glass or natural fibres.
Before proceeding to mass produce an object, a prototype is needed to assess appearance and technical characteristics.
As well as the sectors described in the previous sections, Zhermack RTV2 silicone rubbers and alginates can also be used for applications such as:
